Long time lurker, quase nunca poster.
Tomar riscos faz sentido.
O meu processo é internalizar minha ansiedade e simplesmente aceitá-la. Eu me digo que as emoções desconfortáveis fazem parte do processo, eles costumam acompanhar os melhores negócios.
Faça as estatísticas e você terá a crença, simples assim.

Bob: Sim.
& # 8221; No ano passado eu estava.
Leslie: acabou trabalhando bem.
Leslie: Exatamente. Isso exatamente como funciona, geralmente pelo menos & # 8230;
Exatamente.
receba US $ 60,00 do site, pago esse indivíduo $ 30,00.
Leslie: Oh, definitivamente.
Leslie: Definitivamente. Eu acho que é sustentável enquanto as pessoas estiverem.
vai comprar produtos e comprar serviços online e obviamente.
introdução no setor.
Bob: OK. Isso é no seu site?
Leslie: Sim, isso é no meu site no thefreebieguy.
Bob: legal. Muito legal. Porque são brindes. Nós gostamos de coisas grátis, certo?
Leslie: Exatamente. Eu não posso me chamar # 8216; The Freebie Guy & # 8217; e depois.
US $ 1.000 nisso?
quer ganhar dinheiro, então deixe-me entrar e fazer e fazer e fazer. & # 8221;
credited for the offers and if you don’t get credited for the offers, the.
Freebie site doesn’t get paid, I don’t get paid, the person that I’m.
referring doesn’t get paid and nobody’s happy. It takes someone that is.
willing to go through the steps as they are prescribed, that’s the first.
Leslie: Now, in terms of how much money you can make and how soon you.
can make that money, that varies significantly from person to person.
Leslie: I can tell you how it’s worked for me. Like I said, in my.
first day I was able to make $70. 00. That was on January 18th. By the end.
of January I’d made about $200.00.
Leslie: In February it went up and I made about $535.00. In March I.
made $1,082, and then by April I made $1,208. In May I made, May is when.
it really started taking off because in May I made $4,043.
Leslie: June that went up to about $6,878.54 and then since May it’s.
been pretty, relatively consistent around that level. An important thing.
to note there, a lot of people tell you how much they make, of course,
there are expenses involved. For example, if I’m getting referrals, I’m.
paying that referral.
Leslie: Everything, especially from May on, the values that I’m.
saying, that’s not how much I profited, that’s how much I made in total and.
then, of course, I paid my referral out of that.
Leslie: Some of that does go to that. I was just doing it part time.
I wasn’t doing it full time. I had a full time job as a teacher. I was.
doing it when I get a spare moment here and there. You can make money.
starting on day one. Exactly how much you make is up to you. It’s up to.
your dedication and how much you want to put into it.
Bob: Yes, cool. In your guide you go over some of these details of what.
people need to do and kind of walk them through the first steps and.
Leslie: Exactly. And then the guide leads them to a page in my blog.
where I not only tell them what to do but there’s a video where I instruct.
them and I show them exactly the steps that you use to take and so on. It’s.
all in a very step-by-step and easy to understand manner.
Bob: OK. Let’s go over this, what are the downsides, what are the.
challenges, what, I mean, are your email inboxes, are they filled with.
spam, are you getting all kinds of junk mail, what’s the downside with.
Leslie: Good question. With everything there’s going to be a.
downside, at least one at least.
Leslie: Some of the downsides that I found personally when I started,
when I was doing the first method where you’re being the referral and.
you’re keeping track of the offers, it got annoying to keep track of all.
those offers. I am not, I enjoyed some of the offers that I did, a lot of.
the offers that I did I actually enjoyed, but in terms of keeping track of.
all the details and so on that can be really annoying in the beginning.
Once I moved beyond the first method and I went to the second method, you.
need to go through the first method because you need to understand the.
steps that you need to take so that when you’re referring others you can.
instruct them in the right way to make sure that they don’t make some of.
the obvious mistakes.
Leslie: That was a big thing for me and that’s the reason why I.
developed the spreadsheet and I tried to make it as detailed as possible.
It keeps track of how much money’s deposited into your Paypal account. Isto.
even tracks the Paypal fees and all that kind of stuff. That was one thing.
that for me was a bit annoying, but you know with any business that you do.
there are going to be details to track.
Leslie: That was a big thing for me. Beyond that, and this is just a.
personal thing, because you can start making money so soon, it has a way of.
attaching you to your computer. I found that I started spending too much.
time with trying to do the stuff online than with my family and so on and.
that was somewhat of a challenge for me personally.
Leslie: Now I’m learning to deal with that better. It’s easy to dive.
in and let it consume you. The key thing that I strive for now and I’ve.
been doing that for a while is balance, learning how to balance this stuff.
with everything else that’s going on. Especially with a full time job and.
Leslie: Other challenges, some people, this wasn’t as much a challenge.
with me because I like to think outside of the box and do different things,
but some people have a challenge when they’re transitioning from the first.
method to the second method in terms of learning how to get your own.
referrals. There are systems out there that make it easier for you to do.
it if you know what you’re doing, if you’re guided in the right way and so.
Some people find that to be a challenge, but the great thing that I love.
about it, is I never really had to go to my friends and family and try to.
get them to sign up and try to get them to sign up there.
Leslie: I was never too keen on doing that and with this because there.
are so many people online looking to do it and there are forums in place.
for people that want to do those kinds of things it makes it easy to be.
able to get an income fully online and keeping your business and personal.
Leslie: I’ve had friends, whenever you see them they’re trying to sell.
you something and that’s not, I didn’t want to be that kind of person.
Leslie: That’s what I really enjoyed about this. It allowed me not to.
do that and still be successful online.
Bob: Cool. Well, let me ask you this, this is probably related to the.
industry somehow and it might even be a site you’ve used, but there’s a.
site called Cash Crate that I used a while back and I was using it for a.
while and taking some survey and I was making some money because I was just.
trying the thing out and then like a month or two later I started getting.
these strange charges on my phone bill and then I had to call like five.
different numbers to try to get them removed and it turned out to be a.
pretty big hassle, but have you had stuff like that happen?
Leslie: I haven’t had anything like that happen to me, but that is.
definitely a possibility and I’m glad you mentioned that. A big part of.
that has to do, in this industry, a big part of that has to do with people.
not reading the terms of services-
Bob: Which I probably didn’t.
Leslie: Making sure they understand what you’re doing and that doesn’t.
really take a lot of time, and what I usually recommend for someone when.
they’re getting started is to spend time going over the terms of services.
After a while, after doing a few offers I was able to go in and evaluate a.
full terms of service in, like, five minutes and make a decision based on.
that because I was so used to seeing them that it wasn’t a big deal.
That is one of the reason why when people come to me in a rush I try to get.
them to slow down because on the website it might say “Free offer” and then.
in the terms there are some stipulations that you need to be aware of.
It’s just making sure you’re checking those terms of services and not just.
jumping in head first.
Leslie: I’ve personally had to deal with that because from the.
beginning I used my spreadsheet and one good thing about the spreadsheet is.
that it has all the spots for you to put in all the contact information and.
the details of the offer, so it kind of, if you’re following the.
spreadsheet it almost forces you to go into the terms of services to get.
Leslie: Yes, and that’s why I haven’t really had to deal with that.
Bob: Yes, you’ve obviously handled it better than I did when I put stuff.
in, that’s good to know. I’ll just ask you one last question, are there.
any, I guess you probably have this in your guide, but, are there any tips.
or suggestions that you have for people like starting out in this?
Leslie: The biggest tips are some of the things that I’ve already.
mentioned. The system is pretty simple once you get used to it, but the.
biggest thing that I always tell people, take your time.
Leslie: Number two, there’s a lot of information to learn and not only.
that, but there’s so much opportunity for growth outside of what is.
typically done, OK? Just keeping your mind open and making sure you’re.
following the right steps, that is essential for you to be successful in.
Leslie: The second thing that I would re-emphasize, it’s very.
important to keep track of all those details. You mentioned Cash Crate. I.
remember signing up for Cash Crate in the past and looking at the surveys.
and so on and I wasn’t too impressed with it because it seemed as if you.
are doing so much work and not making as much, but even in Cash Crate when.
you’re doing something like that you need to make sure you understand what.
It’s that simple, that’s not just Cash Crate, it’s not the freebie.
industry, it’s not blogging, it’s not just those things. That’s with.
everything you do. Make sure you understand the terms. If you’re signing.
a contract, that’s what you’re doing when you put your credit card.
information and so on, you’re signing a contract saying “I agree to these.
terms” and if you agree to certain terms, it’s a good idea to know what.
Leslie: Those would be the things that I would recommend. Beyond.
that, like I said, if they were to download The Freebie Report they’d get.
some good information. I spent a lot of time working on that so that.
people can get the instructions that they need without making some of the.
obvious mistakes and so that they can get into the industry.
My goal is to teach you, teach someone to start making money from their.
first day and to teach them how to set themselves up for success in the.
long term, because, OK, if you make $1,000 on day one, which wouldn’t.
happen, but if you made $1,000 on day one but you’re not making anything.
else for the next few months that’s not really worth it.
Leslie: I try to get people to take it one step at a time, make sure.
you do the right stuff, and as long as you do that you’re setting yourself.
up for success and you can do some really good things when it comes to.
making money in the freebie industry.
Bob: Man, that is really interesting. Everybody listening, you can find.
it. Its thefreebieguy, T-H-E-F-R-E-E-B-I-E-G-U-Y, that’s correct.
Bob: OK. Sim. You can find out all this stuff and downloading his free.
guide. That is really interesting to me. I think I’m going to dig into.
that guide Leslie and I might give it a try.
Leslie: Sounds good to me.
Bob: I really appreciate you being on this call and it’s been really.
informative and interesting.
Leslie: No problem. I really appreciate you getting me on this call.
It’s been fun for me also.

Thanks for posting this. I do some Blog posting type stuff for Payperpost and I like that. I also got suckered into Cash Crate once but thankfully I set up a gmail account and found some free fax number to give out. I think I tried it for 2 days and was totally frustrated.
I went to Leslie’s site. Still not sure about this. It’s almost like the scam from years ago where you spend $20 to send envelopes in envelopes and people send you $20 to do the same.
If you do it, I’ll see how it works for you 🙂 Good luck!
Twenty eight grand? Well, in this economic time that would get anyone’s attention almost.
Freebie Trading is definitely not a scam. Yes, it takes some thought like everything else, but it definitely works. What I like about it is that it doesn’t take much of an investment, so there’s not much to loose. I started with $3 and have been in profit ever since. And as you can see, $28,000 in my first year, so I really can’t complain.
It has definitely been a blessing for my family and has made life a little easier for us.
Let’s see, he (Leslie) is telling us to disable all security features in out browsers and to disable any anti-virus software we are running. So no one sees an issue with these types of suggestions?
Ya wayne your right, this does look like a scam. They are targeting teenagers that look this stuff up and then see large sums of cash is at their hands, and with that situation they would be dumb enough to fall into a trap like that and have their paypall accounts emptied by spyware probably put onto the sites by the same people who are leaving the positive comments. If it’s a scam then I guess they do know how to make money over the internet and are pretty smart too. If it’s legit then kudos to them.
Hi Wayne, yes I do say to disable the security features on your browsers while registering on the site and completing offers. The reason for this is that the offers that you are completing have to communicate with the Freebie Site via cookies. Many of the security features block the transfer of cookies, so it’s “safer” to disable them while completing offers to ensure that you will be credited. As soon as you are finished with the offers, you can enable the security features again.
I’ve done it many times (but only when dealing with freebie sites), and I have never had a problem with security issues. I know many people who have done it without a hitch, in terms of security. Actually, I don’t think I’ve met one person who had a problem with security issues while doing a site.
I’m not trying to convince you that you need to try it out, but it has worked for me. The main thing is finding something that works well for you, that is legitimate and that you are comfortable doing. Once you have that, you are good to go 🙂
Very Valid point Kevin, saving is also a big part of money management. I’m always looking for ways to save money. In my opinion, if you can combine a better income with more savings, you’ve got the best of both worlds.
All the best with your site!
WTG Leslie! I’ve been involved with the freebie world since July 2005 and have made over $30-40K since then, doing this PART TIME, and spending less than 1hr a week on it right now. It does take a lot of reading to get started, but it’s totally possible to make a supplemental income from it. Do give it a try!
I’m sorry but I don’t really get it. What is Freebie Trading? I have dial-up and can’t stream or download the podcast. Do you just test products and get paid or what? Desde já, obrigado.
I’d like Bob to do some more on this, any way to find another interview on the topic?
Where can I find freebie sites, I can’t find any. Can you make a list of legit ones that work?
I have never heard of Freebie Trading before. After reading some of the peoples comments on how they did with it I might have to go try that out for myself. Thanks for the info!
well i am 14 and i dont have make any money except $1 a week which doesnt get me far but am i able to do this freebie thing? i have tried survey and offer sites such as rewards1 and cashcrate but i always get so much spam and unwanted calls and charges on my phone. and how does freebie trading work… do you tryout products and write reviews?
Isn’t Freebie Marketing also called Phishing and Spam?
Kathaleen, I suppose that depends on how you do it.
No, it isn’t. Phising is tricking people into giving their information away by making them think they are signing into say, Gmail, when they are actually signing into a fake that looks exactly like Gmail.
Spam is pretty easy, it’s useless, crap loads of stuff. You don’t flood them with messages.
Hello, I would like to get more information on Freebie Trading, where would I be able to obtain this information? Or is there anyone willing to help me get started with Freebie Training? Obrigado.
I am very interested in learning more on how I can get started and find freebie trading. I’m a single mom working two full-time jobs and would love to spend more time at home with my son and give up the one job that doesn’t carry any benefits. Please can somebody help me get started in the right direction on how to setup a website or what I need to get started. I would greatly appreciate all the help and advice I could possibly get. Obrigado.

People usually deal with trading or making their own websites. If you want to go through both routes you can too. If you just want freebie trading check out the anything4free forums. Members there can help you.
Can someone please give me the links to the sites that you use for freebie trading? I need to raise £5000 as fast as I can.
Anything4free forums is like the oldest and most popular one.

Is Freebie Trading Dead? A look at the past, present and Future of the Industry.
This post speaks directly to Freebie Traders. However, even if you aren't a Freebie Trader, I would encourage you to still read it, because there's a lot we can learn by looking at how an industry has evolved over time. One of the things I’ve enjoyed doing since I started building my online business is getting to meet new people. Since January 18th, 2008 (the day I started as a Freebie Trader), I’ve met many great people online and have even had the privilege of gaining new friendships that I believe will last a while. As I speak to many of my Freebie Trading friends, there’s one question that I get asked more and more over the last few months: “Is the Freebie Industry Dead?
That is an extremely valid question, especially coming from “veteran traders” who have been trading for a while and have experienced an significant slowdown in business. Because of the amount of times I get asked this question, I figure that it’s about time for me as “The Freebie Guy” to publicly address this issue. Before we talk about where Freebie Trading is, lets get a little bit into some History (my least favorite subject when I was in High School).
A Brief History of Freebie Trading.
In order to understand where the Freebie Industry is today, it’s essential for us to look back at where it has come from. I am by no means a Historian, and don’t claim to know EVERYTHING about the history of the Freebie Industry. However, I have had a considerable amount of insight into where it came from. Please don’t take the dates I mention as 100% fact. I’m pretty sure they are accurate, if not very close to it, but if I’m off by a few days or so, just accept it, move on and get the point I’m trying to make.
The Freebie Industry has been around for a while. Ever since it started back in 2001 with the site FreeCondoms by Gratis Internet, it has experienced a SIGNIFICANT amount of growth. This site was followed by the popular FreeIpods site.
In those days, the Freebie Industry was about a very simple concept. You complete offers and you get Free stuff. Of course, there was a significant amount of skepticism in the beginning, but as more and more people started receiving their free ipods (and condoms, lol) and with some publicity by major tv stations, more and more people started trying it out and actually trying it out and getting Free Stuff. At this point, the Freebie Industry was not known as an industry for people to make money. It was still people doing offers, and getting Free Stuff.
In January of 2004, we see the FreeIpodGuide coming onto the scene. The concept was simple – the site educated people on how they could use Freebie Sites to get Free ipods and other stuff. Members who donated $10 could get their link listed on the site for 24 hours, which helped people to start getting referrals without doing any work. In September of 2004, a forum was added to the mix, where members could discuss the different Freebie Sites and help each other out. The slogan at the time was “I came, I saw, I got Free Stuff”.
In 2005 (somewhere around April), they added “The Trading Post” subforum, where members could trade greens in exchange for signups, money and other things and this is where the concept of Freebie Trading really got started. People started looking at the Freebie Industry as a place where you could make some money for trying out different services. However, it was still mostly about getting Free Stuff.
Coming down to the end of 2004, a second Freebie Forum was launched – Anything4Free. This grew to be a strong force in the Freebie Industry. As more and more people found out about Freebie Sites, the more people found the forums and the more Free Stuff were being sent out.
** Just wanted to add this little bit of info in here. Up to this point, Freebie Trading was not really looked at as a Work at Home opportunity. It was something people did for fun, as a way of getting Free Stuff**
Around December, 2006, one of the most significant launches in the Freebie Industry took place and that is when Project Payday opened its doors. Based on the Forum trading model, Project Payday (PPD) was the first full out Work at Home product to HEAVILY promote Freebie Trading as a way to make money. Using the fictitious name Monika St. John, the guys (or gals – who knows) over at Project Payday launched a full training program claiming that using their model of Freebie Trading, you can make as much as $50 per hour.
Before we get more into PPD, take a quick look at PPD right before and After they launched, just for the nostalgia (click to enlarge):
Project Payday’s growth was slow in the beginning (as expected with most newly launched products), but soon became one of the fastest growing Work at Home products on the internet because of the simplicity of relative simplicity of the Freebie Trading Model AND the Affiliate program that launched soon after. With their affiliate program, you got paid for each person you got to submit their email address. Because of this, many popular work at home sites started promoting Project Payday as a way to make money working from home. More people heard about the “Project Payday system” and more and more people started promoting it. The rest, as they say, is history.
The Marriage between Project Payday and The Free Lunch Room.
The Free Lunch Room (FLR) opened its doors on February 21st, 2007. In fact, here are some screenshot from when it first launched (Click to enlarge).
As you can see, FLR proudly boasted it's “sponsorship” by PPD. This, of course was a smart thing because PPD was really the driving force behind the growth of the forum. There was a huge influx of traffic into the Freebie Industry due to this “happy marriage”. FLR started growing faster than any other Freebie Trading Forum ever had grown before. Members were getting trades left and right. It was relatively easy for someone to come into the industry, not do any off-forum marketing and start making a few thousand dollars on a monthly basis without having to worry about generating traffic. Some of us were literally sitting back and watching the referrals pile up. Trust me, I know. I was one of those newbies on January 18th, 2008. On my first day, I made $70 and within a few months, I was grossing between $2,000 and $6,000+ on a monthly basis, with my highest month at $6,878.54.
It really was an ideal situation for everyone involved. PPD kept increasing its presence and reputation online since many people were having success with the program. The Free Lunch Room was banking on all the traffic they were receiving from PPD. Freebie Traders sat back and made decent money. Freebie Sites were getting lots of business because they were on the forums and members were happily using them. Doesn’t it sound perfect.
** Just wanted to add in here that all along, A4F was still going relatively strong. Not as strong as FLR, but members were still getting trades. They were second in command when it comes to Freebie Forums. PPD also mentioned A4F as another forum to use and A4F definitely benefited from some of that traffic **
Where My change started.
After trading for a few more months, I started to realize something. If something happened to the forum I was trading on and that’s all I was doing, my income could go from a pretty decent amount to nothing, almost overnight. In addition to that, there were things happening behind the scenes (and in some way, out in the open) that I wasn’t too comfortable with. At that point, I realized that I had to start something of my own, and that is how this blog came on the scene. I went through Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind coaching program and it literally changed my business forever.
I started getting my own traffic and building an online presence. In other words, I was setting up an online business, not just trying to benefit from other people’s work. I started working my butt off to grow TheFreebieGuy to what it is today. Man, you have no idea how glad I am that I made that switch, because what I thought would happen ended up happening. Yep, you guessed it – The forum I was trading at started going down . . .
The Divorce that hurt.
Divorce is never easy, and it never only hurts the couple. It also hurts the kids. This divorce was no exception. In March of 2009, PPD severed all ties with FLR – a change that had a ripple effect throughout the Freebie Trading industry, especially when it came to forum traders. Since PPD was THE main source of traffic for FLR, traffic dropped as if in Free Fall and many members who once thrived in the Forum communities struggled to get a few greens here and there. There were still forum traders making decent money, but they were few and far between.
When PPD disconnected from FLR, they made two main changes. First there was the launch of PPD's Fast Fifty training program, where you traded with someone by the name of “Kelly” on PPDs new Freebie Site and received $50. Once you are through that program, you were then funneled to Net Income Solutions (NIS). A newer Freebie Trading forum started by Zolie Ferrel, known in the Freebie Community as Zman. He was one of the first Freebie Traders under the PPD system and was even featured in a video in the PPD membership area. When I started as a Freebie Trader, he was one of the guys that I looked up to. He obviously understood the system and was doing very well with it.
However, this new arrangement came with an interesting twist. There is only 1 Freebie Network allowed at NIS and that is ZBestFreebies, owned by Zman himself. All of that traffic is funneled to 1 Freebie Network. Many people became upset about that new system because it basically cut all the other freebie networks out of piece of that Huge traffic pie. The way I look at it is simple. If you generate your own traffic, you should be free to decide what you want to do with that traffic. I KNOW that traffic takes a TON of work, so I have no hard feelings there. Also, since I became independent from FLR, the switch didn't really affect me directly.
I have never been active at NIS, but have heard a lot of talk about it. One of the problems that new traders seem to have is that because of the credit weighting, it takes many more offers to go green. This often causes them to become discouraged and move on.
An Honest look at CaliStyle101.
Most of you know by now that I’m one of the co-owners of CaliStyle101, a freebie trading community with a few twists. When I was an active forum trader, there were things that I wished that I had. Things like clear training. Now, it’s hard to be unbiased when you are talking about your baby, but I will try my best.
When we purchased CaliStyle101, we revamped it and relaunch it in May 2009. We did that, made a lot of changes to the design and layout, added the Video Tutorials and the Power Affiliate Program. Then we went to work on traffic. Wow, that was a lot of work. Day in and day out, we spent countless hours building the forum and generating traffic. Now think about this – This was a little different than I was used to. Before, I sent traffic to my blog for people to trade with me ALONE. Now, we were trying to drive traffic to a forum for people to trade with all of our members. It was a tough task, but we were doing it.
Members started getting trades, and they continued increasing by significant amounts over the first few months. However, at a certain point, we could not spend as much time working on traffic and the traffic started decreasing. People still trade there on a daily basis and it is still active. However, there has been a reduction in the amount of new traders that have been coming into Freebie Trading forums across the board and members all over are feeling it.
One of the main benefits of trading at CaliStyle101 is that if you can use your affiliate link to bring people to CaliStyle101. Once they are there, they get a notification letting them know that you are their mentor, advising them to go and check out the rules and Video Tutorials and if they upgrade their membership, you get residual commissions for as long as they remain upgraded. If you are an upgraded member yourself, you get 95% commissions. In other words, you make all the money.
So Where are we now and Where are we headed?
The Freebie Industry is in an interesting position right now. It's a great place to start making money online. Most people that come into Trading with the determination to start making money can make money on their first day or very soon after. The problem is that, in my humble opinion, it's not an end goal. It's a way to get started and see that it is possible to make money online. I think it gives people a boost because when you get that first PayPal payment there's a certain thrill that you feel. Yes, I remember my first day and the excitement I felt. It was great enough excitement to keep me pushing to build an online business.
If you've made it to this point in this blog post, you've been set up to realize something – If you are going to continue in the Freebie Industry (especially as someone who is not already established in the popular forums), you should be prepared to do more work to bring in your own referrals. The days of sitting back on one forum and waiting for the referrals to pile up are no longer around. It's a great idea to diversify between multiple forums, if you like trading at forums. I recommend CaliStyle101 if you are going to be using this approach because your affiliate link goes a LONG way and you can get paid for your efforts in multiple ways. A4F is still relatively active and I'm hearing that people are starting to get some trades at FLR again – not like before but something is better than nothing.
Also, I really want to emphasize that if your goal is to make money online, even to where you can do it full time, you need to start looking beyond Freebie Trading to establishing your own online presence. You should never be in a situation where if one site (that doesn't belong to you) goes under, all of your income will cease. Start a blog, provide great content, generate your own traffic, BUILD YOUR OWN BUSINESS! It's hard work, but what isn't?
Is Freebie Trading here to stay? I strongly believe that it is. As long as advertisers are willing to pay people for to try out their services, people will be trading. However, the way it's done will evolve over time. Learn to adapt to the changes. Every referral you get makes you approximately $20 – $50. If you only get 5 referrals, that's an extra $100 – $ 250. It might not seem like much, but when you add that to a diverse portfolio of Trading, Affiliate Marketing, Blogging and whatever else you might venture to do, it can add up to be a sizable amount. The only limit to how much you can earn is how much effort you are willing to invest.
My encouragement for you is quite simple. Yes, it takes a lot of work to make money online. Trust me, I know. I've busted my behind to make it to where I am today. Many of those gurus you see out there started exactly where you started. Yeah, they might look great in their nice cars, sipping on Pina Colada on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean, but it took a lot to get them there. Realize that whatever you want to do online will take a lot of focused effort. For some of you reading this article, you've been working at it for years and have had many failures. However, you've learned a lot. Oh trust me, I can tell you stories of how I've been scammed in the past, but I learned and grew a lot. Please don't give up. Keep chugging along.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not some rich guru saying that I've reached the level of success that I want to reach. However, I've found a system that works for me, and I'm not delusional about how much work it will take. I make money online and am very glad to be able to do so, but as I continue learning, growing and implementing what I've learnt, I'm able to see my income grow from virtually nothing and it continues increasing. Be encouraged, because you can do it! I would also encourage you to keep checking my blog, because I will try to help as much as I can by sharing info that you can use to grow your business, if you implement the strategies I will share. Yes, that's my shameless self-promotion, but I do intend to continue bringing value to our relationship.
Your Comments.
I wanna hear from you. Really I do. Every time I see a comment, I get excited (it's true). Give me your feedback on what I've said in this article. I know many of you are Freebie Traders and have seen some of these changes happen. Provide your perspective below, good or bad.
Hey man, been subscribed for a while, but this is the first comment I've left. Personally, I already have an audience through my blog and just added my freebie links in the sidebar of my email template and it used to be in the sidebar of my blog to generate additional income until a couple weeks ago when I decided to move away from the freebie network trading completely. While I would use FLR just to discuss stuff, I never did any paid trading there except a few times in the very beginning just to get paid to do something I was gonna sign up for anyway. Then my blog posts about the freebie stuff started ranking in the top 3 search results in Google for “free ipod touch” and my referrals started coming in like crazy. Over the course of a year, maybe a year and a half, I netted well over $10k of products and cash by doing absolutely nothing to promote it other than a blog post here and there and an occasional tweet. I quickly had to move away from TRAINN because, while they are the most user-friendly, I couldn't repeat there and I was wasting a lot of completed referrals. I moved to V-Bux, but it was too intense for first-timers who weren't getting paid to complete anything. The RocketBills/MacroBucks/Bonus Network guys saw my post on FLR venting about my frustration with V-Bux's system and reached out to me to make a personal deal based on my level of traffic. It worked out very well for both of us for a while. But then something happened. I dunno what exactly, but the freebie networks just kinda lost steam. It seemed like they were stuck with the same lame advertisers and offers that no one was really interested in, which led to fewer completed referrals. I got some behind-the-scenes perspectives from the Bonus Network guys and before long even that contact kinda dwindled and died. Now we're at the point where I've tried to cash out on a bunch of referrals from them but two months later I'm still getting no response. The only response I've gotten is along the lines of, “We've had a server crash and we're trying to get everything up and running again. We'll cash our your referrals soon.” But “soon” never comes, so I think I'm pretty much gonna have to wave goodbye to that $800+ check. I haven't removed the Bonus Network links from my blog yet, but I probably should because I doubt I'll ever get money back. Plus, it makes me look bad when I refer my readers to something, they trust my word, they complete the referral, and nothing happens, confirming their suspicions of a scam. It errodes trust and lowers the chance of them doing something like this for me in the future, ya know? Frustrating. Do you know of any good networks I could partner with that is still going strong and is repeatable?
Hey Tim, Glad to have you leave your first comment. I actually checked out your blog a while back on the recommendation of the Bonus Guys. I like what you are doing over there and was extremely impressed with the setup you have. I really think that you have the perfect setup for getting some residual income using Freebie Sites without really putting in any extra effort. It's a great example how a blog setup can work for you, if you do it right. It's unfortunate that you had that experience with the Freebie Networks you were working with. In terms of good networks you could partner with – I know a really good one, lol. I actually run a Freebie Network – PrizeFast. You can check it out. We have Video Tutorials there to walk your referrals through the process. Lets connect sometime and talk about stuff. I will contact you via email and we can see if we can work something out. Oh wait, you are just logging on to skype. Will hit you up there 🙂
Hello there Leslie. That's the first time I comment at your blog. I am earning online for about half a year now. I have many social networking friends that are interested in online earning too. What I see is that people get disappointed whenever they realise that they have to pay for the offers. They do not understand the Method 2, and they do not will to proceed even with the Method 1 by the time they are going to pay money. I am making some good deals and I try to persuade them but it just seems that they can not ueasily understand how things work and why the should invest in the beginning in order to earn afterwards. I wish you all the best.
Yep Ken, some people are still doing very well. That's a fact. But many who were doing well before are not doing as well recently. I won't deny that also. With everything, there's always a way to do something well, and sometimes it takes some adjusting. I'm glad you are able to make it work for you. Mantenha o bom trabalho.
Thanks for the comment Valkerion. Yes, it does take some convincing, and that's why it's a numbers game. The more people you expose to the system, the greater your chances of having success. If you are able to plug them into a system that has good training and enough proof, that helps with the convincing. I've done it myself, so I know it's very possible to continue making money with Freebies. Good to see that you are into social networking and different ways of making money. Keep chugging along. All the best to you too!
I was about to give up on freebie trading until I got a very interested gal through PPD. She got her first green about a week ago and is very excited to continue and work with me, which is awesome. I'm doing all our trading at CS101, where I am finally gaining feedback because when I came to your site last year I had none and didn't have any until last week – which is cool :)I have a freebie trading website that is chuck full of useful info for the newbie in the freebie trading world, but it expires on the 2nd of June. I have been debating and debating – should I keep it or let it go? I honestly have not had the time to promote it and the few leads that do come in, never do anything. Any advice on what I should do?
Hi Linda, The first thing you need to do is answer the following questions. What do you REALLY want to do? Do you want to continue making money online? Do you see Freebie Trading as something you want to continue doing as one of the ways to make money online? If so, you need to continue studying ways to generate traffic, and build an online business. In terms of whether or not you should keep the website, it all depends on your answer to the above questions. I'm going to be providing more and more information to help fill in some of those gaps and it's up to you to learn and take action on the things I will be teaching. Unfortunately, I can't do much teaching in one comment, but over time, I will be providing more and more info, so stay tuned. All the best in your pursuits.
Hi Robert, I hear ya. I know how the beginning stages of blogging can be. It's not always easy. There are strategies you can implement to increase your success, and I'll definitely be talking about those kinds of things. However, it takes time, focussed effort to figure out the traffic generation aspect. It can take a while to master the art of traffic generation, but it does get easier over time. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, and I wish you all the best. Don't be discouraged. And remember . . . Freebie Trading is not the end goal, it's just a means to an end. Keep working hard and smart.
Well, my problem is that I have too many businesses going online…lol. My question before reading your post was – where is the freebie industry headed – I was thrilled when I read it and my answer to that question is what I thought. So, I think I will keep it around at least another year and with your suggestions and advice in coming blog posts, maybe it will work out. Thanks for your comment, Leslie. I have been a blog follower of yours since the beginning. You always write such informative posts, so thank you!! 🙂
I hear ya Linda. I know how it is to be involved in a bunch of different things at the same time. It's good to diversify. However, in some ways, too much diversification can be detrimental because you don't get REALLY good at any one thing. One of my mentors once told me to stick with one thing, perfect it and THEN add on the next thing, but only when you are satisfied with your achievements. I agree with that in some ways, but try to find a balance between that and diversifying. Glad that you've been here since the beginning and I really do appreciate your support. Also glad that you find value in my posts.
May is nearly always the slowest month of the year, since one of our key demographics is preparing for final exams, taking final exams, and then going home to disrupt the daily schedule of our other key demographic. I'm still going to crack $2K for the month. Not a great month for me, but much better than last year. I don't really see the slowdown that you speak of–it's been pretty constant since the fall of the FLR/PPD alliance.
Hello again Heather, It's always good to learn something new. It's when we stop learning is when we have a serious problem. I keep learning new things all the time. Thanks for stopping by again, and for leaving a comment.
Hey, LeslieI think freebie trading will continue to succeed in the future because people will always be willing to earn extra money or prizes. I just started out freebie trading a month ago on calistyle and so far, business has been slow for me and my problem is I can’t find people willing to do any offers. I guess it’s because they’ve already done it, but whatever the reason, I decided to promote my referral links by blogging and making youtube videos and so far, I’ve been unsuccessful at building traffic. And this really upsets me because I know if I could just generate enough traffic to come to my blog, I’ll be able to earn more income but I guess I have to be patient (after all, I just started blogging two weeks ago lol). But I have no doubt, that the freebie trading industry will be profitable in the future. Those who are willing to make a little sacrifice and don’t mind spending a lot of time on the computer will truly succeed as a freebie trader. Great post, keep up the good work!
Hi there Leslie, and let me say that I really got alot of in-depth info from your post. As I wrote you yesterday, I fully support and love the idea that you are moving to longer and more informative blog posts, and this one was a really REALLY good one. I really enjoyed reading about the evolution of the Freebie Industry. I got involved about 5 years ago and I thought It was all new. Thanks for the history lesson…LOLVery interesting info. I also agree with your theory that we must constantly adapt to the many changes in the world. We can never rely on one source of income anymore. We all need to learn new skills and be open to new things.

Thanks for your support (as usual) Penney. Yes, it takes creativity and that personal touch. People like to know that they are dealing with REAL people. Not some fake “guru” on a high horse looking down from up above, lol. Keep up the great work that you are doing!
As usual, lots of good information. I have been very much aware of the coming changes and try to adapt to them. I have been trading now for almost 3 years and have been here during the good times and the bad. Isn't that what all businesses are like? Being self-employed or in management most of my life, you come to just accept this fact. I do agree that the breakup of PPD had a great effect on the Freebie Industry. I also believe that the economy of our country today, has played as big a part in the downslide of newbies. We would all like to think that this is a perfect place for people to come and supplement the money they may have lost due to job layoffs, fewer hours, and just businesses closing, but it is difficult to start when you have nothing to invest. I personally know that I am still able to make a decent income, but it does take some creative ideas and extra work. You have to be open to work on several forums and POST, POST, and POST some more. You have to work harder to keep the newbies and it takes more of a personal touch, but we do have more time for that these days. Anyway, I look forward, as usual, to your next blog. I have great respect for you Leslie, and I know you have worked hard for you sucess and will continue to do so. Thanks again!!
Awesome post Leslie, Ive always enjoyed reading your content and even started my own blog a while back. Hopefully I can grow it into what you have here one day. Look forward to all the info you have coming at us in the future. Summer vacation is just around the corner for you so hope to see around Cali a little more, LOL. Thanks again for all youve done for us.
Hi Leslie, I'd just gotten going as a trader in August of 08 and spent several months just doing offers to green and get paid, building up my portfolio of sites and putting together a freebie trading website. I actually got one of your replicated freebie sites. I just started learning how to draw traffic and was set to launch out full force on method 2 when PPD dropped FLR. I'd sunk more money into getting ready to go Method 2 than I had earned, yet in the past few months I had averaged several hundred dollars a month in extra money. It is a fact that only about 2% to 3% of people working online are making any type of substantial income, so even earning a few hundred a month is doing great. Yet for me, freebie trading was not a sustainable method. I knew I could only have taken it so far. I didn't have the heart to hang in for further freebie trading, but I do agree with you that it should not be “an end goal” more so than a great way to motivate yourself when you see that money can be earned online. For more than a year now I've been working a primary online business platform, learning great strategies to market, advertise & promote and am earning money again. This time I won't have to worry about the floor falling out from under me either. I've build a solid online presence by article marketing and branding strategies in addition to acting as a Super Sponsor on a well known business forum. By learning how to market, advertise and promote online properly I'm able to work any affiliate market out there and earn. For those who still have the tenacity to continue to work in Freebies, I admire you and wish you all well.

Thanks man, Glad you got started with your own blog. It takes work, but it's definitely worth it. Yep, today is the last day of Final Exams and then 1 week of meetings and I'm HOME FREE. WOOHOOOO!
Linda, that gets me excited. Glad to see you are building something that works for you. Everyone needs to find their own niche that works for them, and then work it. Once you have established an online presence (which it sounds like you have done and are doing), you are really setting yourself up for success. I'm really glad to hear about what you've accomplished so far. It's a testament to the fact that it is possible. Keep it up!

Well, I don't know if freebie trading is DEAD, but it's definitely at a stand still for me! I lunched my own freebie trading training site about a month ago and I'm getting sign ups, I have a little over two hundred members now, but no one is going green. I hope that changes for the better.
I started Freebie Trading in Nov,2008. I actually made some money doing Method 1 and was just starting Method 2 when the “divorce” happened. I kept going but found it very slow. I have started a few other businesses and am trying to get them profitable. I still keep working on Freebie trading as it may come back. However, I no longer spend my major time on it. I am trying to concentrate on one business but keep the others going as best I can. I look forward to your continued blogs. You have given me good advice and ideas in the past.

Dear Mr. FreebierGuy,
I was very moved by this blog. I found it very informative and helpful for me. I have been in the freebie trade site since 2007( off and on) and just came back to discover CaliStyle101 which has helped out a lot. I agree with everything you said in your blog and all those things happened to me. I am trying to get where you are at and thank you for being a roll model to me and many others. I will keep read your blogges and please keep them coming.
Glad you are enjoying the content. I will definitely keep it coming. I wish you all the best in your pursuit of online success. Stay tuned!
when I click on Calistyle101 my virus detector goes nuts…and I end up on an unavailable page…what’s up with that?
Please note that this is a post from 4 years ago. I no longer promote any kind of freebie trading. I don’t know anything about Calistyle101 anymore. My advice: stay away 🙂
Por quê? I just heard about freebie trading and it sounds interesting. Will you, please, send me in the correct direction?
Advertisers aren’t spending as much money there anymore because it doesn’t work well for them. In terms of the correct direction, that all depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. I have lots of advice here on this blog. Click on Start a blog above and watch the free videos. That’s a good place to start.
ok…now I am really confused. I put my info in for the blogging course info and got an email from someone, not your name…and it talked all about Instant payday network….I thought this was suppose to be about blogging. someone needs to explain this please.
Hi, I’m confused too. I have no idea what you’re talking about. Anything you find on pages about Freebie Trading here, disregard it. If you want to learn about blogging you can check out my free course here without even signing up. Click on “Start Here” at the top of the page in the navigation menu.
Very interesting take on the freebie industry, and accurate as well. I remember when I first started on free lunchroom and I quickly noticed that I was going to climb the ladder from there. This was back in ’04-’05 ish I believe when I first discovered the ‘freebie world’. I quickly went from going green for someone to paying someone to green for me. But, back then the offers seemed more affordable. Right from my first trade I nested away all of my profits because I wanted, and knew I was going to take it to the next level. Very addicting! I do remember the Project Payday system come and go within a few years. If I remember correctly it was shortly after Project Payday moved on is when a lot of other forums started popping up. Heck I even started one but it didn’t last long lol. But hey, it was worth a shot.
Shortly after gathering up enough money from trades I started a small freebie network named Customfreebiez. How exciting! This was around 2005 and I was doing full time construction at the time. I even paid for a commercial on my local channels to draw more traffic. Expensive but yet worth it! I was booming back in the day! I became so busy that I had to hire someone to help me do payouts, reply to support tickets etc. Now in my opinion I believe that the economy collapse in ’07-’08 is what slowed all of the freebie industry down, almost to a stand still. I tried sticking it out as long as I could but soon realized that the time I spent wasn’t worth it financially. After a few years of extreme fun I decided it was best to sell my websites. By that time I had 4 different sites in my network. In conclusion I really do hope the freebie industry bounces back but I’m not very confident that it will. If your just starting out in this sort of supplemental way of income, my advice would be to be extremely organized and don’t give up!
